Whoever decided to create a GoodReads profile of the Draco Trilogy and link it to the uploaded fanfic in its entirety are officially my heroes.
I just reread Draco Dormiens, by Cassandra Claire : HPfanfiction
But Hermione Granger still always retains a bit of Hermione Granger, no matter how garbled an interpretation of her is and let me tell you, although Clare had a lot of faults, I thought that her interpretations of the Harry Potter characters were, though not totally accurate, both compelling and interesting. I never thought I’d see this again. But I didn’t finish it so, I don’t really know if he saw Ron in a new light. When I opened the book, I knew that Clary was Ginny.
This story really gave me a hard time. For many fans, these stories fed an intense desire for more Harry Potter as they endured the long waits between books. Such borrowings were often not cited, or cited in such trioogy way as to make the amount of borrowed text appear far less extensive than it actually was. Here’s the setup and an example of how her Harry acts page 5: I’ve been tempted to pick up her original fiction I’m still a sucker for YA fantasy romance stuff, and read The Draco Trilogy more than once when I was super into ficbut I can’t bring myself to give her money.
For example, why in heaven’s name would you characterize Hermione, arguably one of the best written tirlogy strongest female characters written in the last decade, as a love sick, nitwit?
Xlaire will I get what they stole from not just me, but young writers everywhere? The trilogy contributed to the popularization of Fanon Dracocalled “Leather Pants Draco” after a famous scene in Draco Sinister where Draco ends up looking good in incredibly tight leather pants.
Which now I look back, and I’m like, Oh. I work from the characters up. She may not be the most creative writer, but she was smart enough to create a cassamdra that people intrigued by, so she kept on going with it.
Claire had the potential for an interesting story, but everything just went sideways and the characters grew more and more unrealistic from what Rowling developed. Another major issue, related to the use of pop culture dialogue, was that Cassandra Clare reproduced concepts, rough scenes, descriptive phrases and dialogue from several fantasy novels. I am a fanfiction writer too http: It only appeared online in its entirety for about two weeks before Claire took down her fanfiction in order to embark on her profic career.
I got into both reading and writing fanfiction pretty late in my life, probably around or so, and I haven’t had the chance to really look up its evolution and how it came to be. He, at his core, is a nice, good person. Okay, technically, everything had been stolen because it was fanfiction. I would think that he would try to ruin Harry’s friendships or grades.
City of Bones I could actually finish — it was a painful experience in a way that’s at least half funny, AND it contains a quote that describes said experience perfectly “If you were half as funny as you think you are, you’d be twice as funny as you are now”. I still love the mortal instruments. Draco Dormiens, Draco Sinister, and Draco Veritas are, someone’s calculated, almost one million words or, and pages and the fics were many fans’ first introduction to fanfiction. On the other hand, many fans still enjoy the Draco Trilogy and her other works.
Draco Dormiensthe first novel of the trilogy, was posted serially to FanFiction. The characters were all a bit OOC, but not enough to make them feel like different people. Yes, I agree with this. I never really had a huge hateboner for CC. Thank you so much for sharing.

I guess I would probably say the Draco Trilogy [is the best example of my writing] because it veers in style, pretty wildly, because I used it as sort of an experimental work to try teilogy lot of different things. It is the shortest novel in the series by far, totaling roughly 70, words.
And just to give you an idea of how much I mean this, I sometimes yearn to read the original Draco Trilogy, even with all of its horrible problems. I resisted the urge to make it more aesthetically pleasing for you.
I was disconnected from fandom for years, reading mainstream work, but when I came back I learned of the vicious controversy that these books had ended up originating within fandom. Hermione tended to flirt more than claird canon, but she was still Hermione.
The characters are plain and uninteresting, and the only thing they seem to care about is love. To sum up, all that charm that can be found in the Harry Potter books is totally lost here. And finally, it gets you kind of boring when the story occurs mostly on Malfoy’s Manor. May 16, Kushnuma rated it really liked it Shelves: It’s not a long novel, at around And now it’s on Goodreads. I just keep away from her myself. What’s the fascination with Draco? Aside for viscerally hating nitwit Hermione however, I thought Cassandra Claire really managed to capture the essence of the other characters.
She has her steampunk trilogy, which is also about Shadowhunters, but does not relate to dravo characters in Cassandta Mortal Instruments series. Because I could definitely write something like this. I’m reading her fanfiction, after all, not marrying her.
